Transformation takes Time

My own health journey and those of my family, friends and clients have taught me so very much.

Over the years I have come to realise and experience many valuable things, one of them being how small, seemingly insignificant changes to our daily habits or lifestyle can dramatically alter the trajectory of our lives over a period of time, in such a profound way, good or bad.

Unfortunately, too many people live on auto pilot and let undesirable habits run their way of life and health.

We become what we repeatedly think and do …. it’s in the repetition.

The good news is that when we choose to live more consciously, we become more aware of the habits or lifestyles that are not serving us or others and fortunately, just as we learned these habits, we can unlearn them too.

Here are a few things I would consider when deciding to change some habits or lifestyles:

Be gentle and kind to yourself. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Don’t expect a quick fix. While results can be immediate, depending on the change you are making, be prepared to be in it for the long term. Your body and your health are totally worth the time and effort.

Accept that you are most likely going to fall off the track many times and that’s okay. You have the opportunity to start each new day with a clean slate. Welcome this beautiful gift.

Start with a habit that is not only a priority to change but one that you are mentally and emotionally strong enough to tackle. Your initial success in changing habits will help establish or further strengthen a positive mindset that will stand you in good stead. Building your confidence is essential if you wish to create and maintain sustainable change.

Understand that your sense of “normal” will begin to shift the more changes you make.

Become comfortable with these shifts one at a time before introducing further change. Slow but cemented change is most likely to be more sustainable than many changes made in a short space of time.

Your health concerns and goals are specific to you and so should the changes you implement be personalised for you. Personalisation promotes permanence.

Remain open to new ideas, there is always more to learn. Embrace change.

Reduce any overwhelm you may have by remembering to focus on the very next step in front of you instead of the destination. It’s a journey.

On the tough days don’t forget how amazing you are. You have what it takes.

You do not have to do it alone. Connect with other like minded-people or myself if you would like support. I would love to partner with you.

Finally, just another reminder that transformation takes time and you are totally worth it.

Much love always x
